This month’s business

The Art Matters Show in Salida was very well received by all who saw it.  3 pieces sold, comments were that the quality of the work was outstanding.

The annual  show at the Art Center is approaching quickly! To date, 19 people have signed up to participate.  If you want to be part of this and haven’t  informed me, please do so ASAP.   We will be able to accommodate 3 pedestal pieces per person, plus several additional wall pieces if you so choose.  The fee to be in this show is $30.00 per person.  Commission to the Art Center is 30%.  For those participating, please get you fees paid before August 25th.  You will need to have inventory information to me NO LATER than Aug. 25th, title, media, price.  Don’t hesitate to contact me if you need additional information.

We will be firing the glow worm kiln at Bob Walsh’s on Saturday the 21st.  If you haven’t  had a chance to be part of this, you have missed something great.   Bring your bisque pieces, your clay should be formulated to reach cone 10.  We will start loading about 8:00 am.  This would be a great time to have a pot luck if you would like to bring a covered dish to share.

This month’s activity was discussion and showing tea bowls.  Several of us brought pieces from our collections, and passed them around for discussion.  There were 10 or 12 teabowls on the table; all were very unique and fascinating to see.

Heads up for November’s meeting.  The theme will be TEAPOTS,  the group In attendance agreed to ask everyone who is able to make a new teapot to bring and show.  We will also welcome any others you may want to bring.
