December minutes
Farewell to Harold Snider, election of officers, upcoming shows
The December meeting was held on the 2nd of the month at Ron and Dixie Cloyd’s home. Members present were Ron Cloyd, Harold Snider, Joanie Post, Susan Wallace, Bob Walsh, Bob Peterson, Betty Cotter, Ruth McCrea, Ben McFarlin, Ashtonn Means, Wayne Petefish, and Pat Feinberg. Other guests attending were Vern Mosher, Holli Means, and Charlie the Honorary Pyromaniac.
This month’ program was a farewell gathering for Harold Snider, who has moved to Cedar City Utah where his wife Deborah is now employed. Harold’s absence will be greatly felt by our group, though he will keep his membership active and hopefully visit and exhibit with us.
Other business was the annual election of officers. Once again, Ron Cloyd was elected president. Our new vice president is Joanie Post, and treasurer is Susan Wallace.
Not discussed in the meeting was the schedule of exhibits for 2011. We are booked in the KAFM radio station’s Radio Room Gallery for the months of April and May. This venue is limited on pedestal space, so they are asking primarily for wall work. The radio room doubles as a meeting room and concert hall so there is considerable traffic, and generally strong sales. There will be more information to come on this. Also in June, we have the large upstairs room at the Creamery Art Center in Hotchkiss. This is a first class gallery with strong sales. There is ample space and pedestals will be available for all of the pieces we submit. Finally, in September, we will be in the Gould Gallery at the Art Center. We will need lots of help in planning and setting up all of these exhibits, so please contact one of the guild officers if you can volunteer.
