The July meeting was held on Ron’s patio on the 8th at 7:00 pm.  Members in attendance were Ron Cloyd, Harold Snider, Ronda Clark, Ruth McCrea, Pat Feinberg, Susan Wallace and Bob Walsh.

Business items included the upcoming annual show at the Art Center. Installation for the show will be Monday, August 30.  The show will run from September 3rd through the 25th. We will be exhibiting in the studio Colorado, so there will be lots of room for our work.  The Art Center would like us to have about 50 pieces, plus as much wall space as we can fill. With expected participation, I think we can plan on 2-3 pieces per artist.  Also, as before, wall pieces are strongly encouraged. Gallery rental fee will be $450.00, plus 30% commission for sold work. So, if we can get 20 participants, the fee will be 22.50 each, for 15 it would be 30.00.  Volunteers are needed to set up the exhibit. Don’t hesitate to contact me with questions, also if anyone would like to help with organization that would be great.

Also discussed at the meeting,

Harold and Deb Snider are leaving the valley.  Deb has accepted a teaching position in Cedar City Utah.  With Harold’s departure in the late fall, we will need to meet for election of officers.  I would like everyone to think about taking part in the leadership of the guild. We will need to fill at least 1 office, Vice Prez.   Susan Wallace has accepted appointment to the treasurer’s position.

For the program this month, Susan Wallace brought in her collection of Japanese pottery to show.  She presented some history and shared some experience about her travels through Japan.  I have asked Susan to repeat this at another meeting, so if you missed it you can get another chance.
