The October meeting was held on Thursday the 7th at Ben and Mary’s studio. Members in attendance were Ron Cloyd, Harold Snider, Ruth McCrea, Susan Wallace, Mary and Ben McFarlin, Annie Stanfield , Deb Stewart, Ashtonn Means, Wayne Petefish, Betty Cotter, and Lindaa McBride.

This month’s activity was show and discussion of pouring vessels. We looked at and critiqued a number of pitchers, ewers, sake bottles, as well as other similar pieces.

Susan Wallace is volunteering at the local CLAWS shelter, (cat’s lives are worth saving) and has put out a call to those interested to make and donate food and water dishes for these rescued critters.  If you are so inclined, the bowls should be relatively heavy, with flat stable bottoms.  Dimensions should be about 7 ½” wide and 2 ½” tall.  You can contact Susan or Ron to arrange drop off of your donation. Please note this is a no kill shelter.

On November 5, 6, and 7 Deb Stewart is having a sale at her studio in Silt from 10 am to 6 pm. 10% of all of her Saturday sales will be donated to the Rifle Animal Shelter.
